Hello,
I'm John, the vicar at St. Giles. I’ve
been ordained since 2009 and before coming to Rowley Regis I was at two
different churches in Sutton Coldfield.
Before that, I had various proper jobs, mainly in retail
management, including Safeway (I’m that old!), Somerfield and B & Q. I was
brought up going to a Methodist Church in Bognor Regis, and then went to
university in Plymouth.
While I was at university my Dad was ordained as a Methodist
minister and my grandmother was convinced I would be a priest as well. I wasn’t
convinced, but God has other ideas and I became more and more involved in
church life until I eventually considered the call to ordained ministry.
I am married to Siobhan, who is also a vicar, and we have a
son, Bradley.
When I’m not vicaring, you will find me walking our crazy
Labrador, or looking after our three cats and six chickens. I also like to
cook and read.
Do say hello if you see me out and about, and I also hope you
come and see us in church. St. Giles is your parish church and we are here for
you in good times and bad
